PRP is plasma with more platelets than what is typically found in blood. The blood must first be drawn from the patient. The platelets are then separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process called centrifugation. The increased concentration of platelets is combined with the remaining blood, then injected into the injured or damaged area.
